How Urdu voice typing works
This tool uses the speech-recognition interface exposed by supported browsers. WriteUrdu asks the browser for Urdu recognition and places final recognized phrases into an ordinary editable text area.
Browser support and internet access
Speech recognition is not implemented the same way in every browser. Some browsers may send microphone audio to a browser-vendor recognition service, and some may require an internet connection. WriteUrdu does not provide or store the speech-recognition audio itself.
Review the transcript
Names, punctuation, English words, numbers and similar-sounding Urdu words can be recognized incorrectly. The transcript stays editable so you can correct it before copying or opening it in another WriteUrdu tool.
Continue with the Urdu workspace
You can send the transcript to the Urdu Text Cleaner & RTL Fixer or open it in the WriteUrdu editor. The handoff uses session-only browser storage instead of putting the transcript in a URL.
